We made a group booking with cabins, sailing overnight on Good Friday 2000 from Plymouth to Roscof and riding the 60 miles from Roscof to Chateauneuf du Faou on Easter Saturday. We caught an afternoon ferry for the return journey on the following Saturday. The ferry fare was £50

return, Brittany Ferries were in the process of revising fares and anticipated an increase in the following year.We were self-catering and found Mike Bowden’s camper van indispensable for fetching milk and groceries from nearby villages. A shorter and a longer route were planned each day to a place of interest, based on information from local tourist offices. In practice people grouped together and did their own thing. Based on a group of at least 15 the cost per person for the week was approx. £75 for the gîte plus ferry fares - i.e. £135 subject to confirmation. In fact a small sum of money was returned at the end of the stay.
